ABOUT THIS SITE
This register is our contribution to the national derby community born first and foremost of a desire to see all the names of our peers in one place (dont know about you but I was always super curious!). Some controversy appeared on a regular basis within the international community regarding the viability of a whole world of roller derby players vieing for names on one list. As such, there are very long delays (up to 18 months for some of us) and inconsistency (some names are granted in 6 months) and reports of skater names staying on the register whom have retired. Theres been many a suggestion from skaters all over that one day the time will come when we have to go regional. Roller Derby is growing at an enourmous rate!
We are not aiming to replace that register at this stage, but we do disagree with close spelling rules when we are all over the other side of the world. Some Australian skaters that have contacted us have expressed a strong urge to break away from the US register altogether.
Rest assured we are in this to stay and we are in this for the right reasons- roller derby! We arent asking for money (and indeed its costing us money), all we ask is for your support. In return, you get a site filled with league info where people can find you and you can protect your name here in OZ/NZ, and you will not have to wait more than a few days, not months. We have always and will continue to welcome constructive suggestions and comments. With your input, we can create something unique and tailor made for our local skaters and referees.
